When are you ever okay, anyway? It’s not like you’re getting deeper and deeper into depression. We all know that you’re at the very bottom. You can’t escape your own skin so you cut another piece to feel the blade. You drown yourself effortlessly with questions pouring like thousands of teardrops from your head until your body feels numb.

It’s ridiculous how people care so much if you had just started listening to a band that’s been around. It’s not a big fucking deal. This is gonna sound really cliche, but it’s music. It’s meant to be shared and heard and be discovered anytime.

I don’t know what is your conception about Satanism, but you should know that is completly incompatible with straight edge. I respect you and your music is pretty good, but I think that it can’t be called satanic. Keep doing your good music and try to care less about your image. (And sorry if I wrote something wrong, my english is pretty bad)

“LaVeyan Satanism is a religion founded in 1966 by Anton Szandor LaVey. Its teachings are based on individualism, self-indulgence, and “eye for an eye” morality. Unlike Theistic Satanists, LaVeyan Satanists are Atheists, Agnostics and Apatheists who regard Satan as a symbol of man’s inherent nature. According to religioustolerance.org, LaVeyan Satanism is a “small religious group that is unrelated to any other faith, and whose members feel free to satisfy their urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies”. Its beliefs were first detailed in The Satanic Bible and it is overseen by the Church of Satan.”

So with due respect we all in the band are atheists/ agnostics. As for myself I agree with the symbolism of Satan as inherent of mans anarchistic/ rebellious nature (seeing as how I myself am an anarchist) found in Michael Bakunin’sGod and the State. I also feel that the third line I highlighted is what straightedge is in a small respect. We satisfy our urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to our friends and attack our enemies (be it cigarette companies, alcohol companies, or sexist/racist/ homophobic assholes, etc).

So LaVeyan “Satanism” is actually quite compatible with most of our beliefs. With that said none of us consider ourselves LaVeyan Satanists at all. PLUS only I am straightedge. The rest of the band supports my beliefs and we encourage people to look into straightedge as we see it. The X on the hands is a symbol of straightedge but it was also ORIGINALLY a symbol that said WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH ALL AGES SHOWS. Then it became appropriated by the sxe culture. That being said our definition of SXE is the same essentially as that of MONSTER X (grind band from 92-98).

This came from a band that was SURROUNDED by straightedge bands that were HARE KRISHNA and PRO LIFE and heavily CHAUVINISTIC. This band was also PRO LEGALIZATION. So they completely did not follow the status quo of straightedge. So even to say there is one solid concept of straightedge is wrong.

We never called ourselves “SATANIC” in the sense that we actually worship Satan because we don’t. In fact our most “popular” song about being satanic is actually just a sarcastic jab at supposed satanic metal heads. IE: We Kill Christians, Were Satanic, Fuck Religion. Read the first two lines sarcastically and humorously and then read the last line as a matter of fact.

We like the imagery is all and to be honest theres A LOT of thought in our designs and our approach to NOT be overly dumb. Were aware of how it comes off. Were aware of the “confusion” it can cause. We do that on purpose to create dialog. But people need to research things or ask us things before accusing us of stuff. EVERY single one of our designs and lines in a song have many meanings and interpretations.
